I would think after fasting that much you wouldn't have many bacteria anyway ... maybe the thing to do would be to take some good probiotic after a long fast. Many of the probiotic bacteria only live a few days in the gut, they need to be renewed anyway. -- Heidi Jean

Many >of the probiotic bacteria only live a few days in the gut, >they need to be renewed anyway. I have been taking Fervita (EM brew) since the 4th day of the fast, IIRC. LOL! Further confusion. I will probably start PD again later this week though. It always firms up my stool. Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Web Design & Development http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3shjg Weston A. Don't think a week went by she didn't need pepto after lunch, sometimes days at a time. Few times a years her lupus would get worse and she'd be out of work. Seems like diet elimination of some kind should go along with pepto. Wanita
Guest guest
lupus is tricky in that officially pretty much no one knows anything about it. (grunt of frustration). however, yeah - i'm working with a fellow with lupus and we agreed that he'd try going gluten free. also we're using coconut oil and other stuff...it's really quite a nasty disease (disease? i think we use that word too frequently) -katja >Isn't lupus linked to gluten? The way Dr. Fine wrote about it was ... he gets a patient with microscopic colitis. This can be caused by NSAIDS or by gluten intolerance. So he does the pepto thing, which generally clears it up. If it comes back, with no NSAIDS, then the person needs to change their diet. Now lupus is another thing altogether. Yeah, it's linked to gluten, at least for a lot of people (there might be other allergens for other people). What's horrid is, most folks dont' know any of that, they just suffer. -- Heidi Jean
