Guest guest
I started a no-grain, low starch (although not ketosis) diet almost three weeks ago. I have had diarrhea ever since when i'm normally prone to constipation. My vegetable consumption is up but quite a bit, but not radically so. Sometimes it will seem like i'm getting better and then it's worse. To complicate matters i began taking HCl under ND supervision after the diarrhea began. I thought it would help my stomach get better but hasn't (although i no longer have dry skin now!!!!). My energy is starting to seriously flag. It's possible i have a virus that coincided with all this, but i'm wondering if going off grains and sugar can cause diarrhea. Well, I'm normally prone to diarrhea and got seriously constipated when I went no grain ... maybe it's just an over-reaction? Or maybe the bacteria are going nuts. Or, maybe you are eating more fruit than before? You could try some Pepto Bismol ... it will bring the bacteria into line, then take some probiotics. You can also try eating some rice, which tends to help (yeah, it's a grain, but it does help diarrhea). -- Heidi Jean
Guest guest
Well, that is weirder than all get-out. Guess i'll get more proactive with probiotics and give the pepto a shot. I'm not eating fruit by the way. Elaine > Well, I'm normally prone to diarrhea and got seriously constipated when I went > no grain ... maybe it's just an over-reaction?
