This is frightening, especially since I recently started having my

7yo daughter take 1 PD every day, since it has been so helpful for me

(I take 2 morn/2 night). I would love to hear a response as well.

Soon.

It's really interesting. I can't say I know an answer. I WILL say that

humans have been eating dirt forever ... dogs and chickens

too. Perhaps the fact soil organisms are hard to kill works in

our favor ... the babies eat dirt (they do, too!) and innoculate

their intestines. Picking up a few parasites along the way, in

most cultures! I don't think that nasty infections happen much

in folks who have decently balanced intestines (unfortunately,

a lot of folks don't, and it's hard to know which camp you are in).

Personally I won't eat PD because it has barley in it (or wheatgrass?

I forget). Also because I get plenty of soil microbes without paying for them,

and my digestion has normalized very nicely over the past couple

of years. I suspect that homemade kimchi is full of soil organisms

too ... the cabbage grows in the dirt, and no one sterilizes it before

making kimchi.

Kefir and kefir beer have the most instant effect on my gut though.

They seem pretty safe too.

OTOH I've never heard of anyone actually having *problems* from PD

either. This sounds like something that " could be " a problem, and

it comes from a person who is making a rival product, sounds like.
