Guest guest
Sue,Several of us on the AAFP Private Sector Advocacy listserv have received these letters. Trevor Stone, AAFP Director of AAFP Private Sector Advocacy, has been a wonderful resource to us. There have been instances in Texas and Colorado this past year when we have exposed the sordid practices of BCBS and UHC, and they have backed down. Several state academies which have not, until recently, assisted members in these matters, have gotten involved.A strategy of the managed care organizations is to single out the most vulnerable physicians. They know primary care physicians traditionally undercode. The codes we use should reflect the work we do. Period.I'm taking the liberty of sending this response to the AAFP Private Sector Advocacy listserve and to Trevor Stone. When we know where you practice, we can begin to help. Best of luck.Shirley Pigott, MD23 years solo Family MedicineTexas
