It's been a long time since we have been to a doctor and the experience was very good! They did a CBC and a CMP and some other tests that we will get the results back in a few days. Everything was normal except the white cell count. It was a little off. They did not say what it was. I asked for copies and was told that they could only give copies to an MD. They suspect a bacterial infection from the tick bite but don't think it is Lyme disease (suggested rock mountain spotted fever) so they put him on 100mg capsules of Doxycycline 2x a day. We are continuing 3 T of CS daily and will take a strong acidophilus. Day 4 and he is still running a fever, not eating, in bed all day and all night. He loves to read and has not been doing that. He likes TV too but has not done that. Has lost 11-12 lbs. He only weighted 180 when this stated. So we are very concerned. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Del .. ..>>> Del Massage his feet with a 10% dilution of essential oil of Oreganum vulgare in olive or coconut oil AND make him a weak Oregano tea from your spice cupboard to sip throughout the day. mjh http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/

In conjunction with an antibiotic, it can " take over " and cause it's own problems. He might be better off with kefir or some mix of probiotics. Also, what kind of food is he getting? If you are cooking low-wheat at home, and he gets normal hospital food (high wheat) THAT might throw him off too. -- Heidi Jean
Guest guest
Make sure you get copies of the lab results. They are your labs. You paid for them. Good to save copies of that type of info. I always get copies. Chris > > Update: I took my dh to the emergency room this morning. It's been a > long time since we have been to a doctor and the experience was very > good! Guest guest
mjh, I am very interested in using essential oils. I looked at the HFS today for Oreganum Vulgare and could not find it. Also the staff did not know of it. I have not done an online search as yet but could you tell me if you recommend this for bringing down fever or something else? Also what do you recommend the Oregano tea for? Thanks for your suggestions, Del > Massage his feet with a 10% dilution of essential oil of Oreganum vulgare in > olive or coconut oil AND make him a weak Oregano tea from your spice cupboard > to sip throughout the day. > > mjh > http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/
Guest guest
Heidi, That is the first I have heard to avoud acidophilus when taking antibiotics. He won't eat the kefiili except rarely. I saw my ND today and he said that he should take the acidophilus. Take it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. He has an appointment with an MD that specializes in lyme disease. I will call him tomorrow and see if he says it's okay. Well, up until yesterday he had not eaten hardly anything. Yesterday he asked for orange juice which I made fresh and last night he wanted mashed potatoes which I made with raw milk and raw ghee, sea salt and pepper. Tonight he had a little raw salad with a tomato based dressing, brocoli, red onion and carrots cooked in chicken broth with italian herb seasoning, sea salt, coconut oil and chicken. Watermelon in the afternoon. Oatmeal for breakfast (he's not GF, I am). He slept through lunch. Let's hope he does not have to go into the hosp. Let's face it we are all doomed if we have to go there! I think he is a little better! Del Heidi wrote: > I would avoid the acidophilus! Guest guest
Hospital policy that they cannot give me copies but rest assured I *will* get copies. I have been getting all copies health related for at least 10 years. Good idea for everyone to do! Thanks for the links. Del wrote: > Make sure you get copies of the lab results. Guest guest
> >That is the first I have heard to avoud acidophilus when taking >antibiotics. SOME people, when taking acidophilus while on antibiotics, get an overgrowth of acidophilus! It causes a certain isomer of lactic acid to get over=produced, leading to acidosis. It is much better to eat a probiotic with more variety. > He won't eat the kefiili except rarely. I saw my ND today >and he said that he should take the acidophilus. Not a bad diet ... oatmeal is good, really, unless you are very gluten intolerant (the rest of my family eats it ... I never liked the stuff, so I'm not going to deal with it!). As for eating kefiili ... try making it into ice cream .... As for hospitals ... my grandma figured she'd die if she ever checked into one. She broke her hip, and checked into one ... and died ... 15 years later! Really, it's scary and all, but one can survive the experience. -- Heidi Jean
