Guest guest
Yes, the ideas definitely need to be adapted for our culture--most of us don't live in communities where everyone works together all day long with children in tow. The Yequana tribe doesn't have the childcare crisis we have because they don't think of childcare as a special job--it just happens as the adults live their lives. However, you might be able to incorporate the in-arms phase, co-sleeping, breastfeeding on demand, and non-child centered rearing pretty easily. I don't think we should idealize the Yequana, but I do love the underlying philosophy outlined in the book and think it can be used as a guide for us moderns. I'll definitely join the email group on Continuum Concept when the time comes for support in applying the ideas. RE: Re: Continuum Concept and other stuff Was: Thanks, Suze > I've read the book. Guest guest
Oh yes! Baby wearing...and all the things you said. All centered around attachment parenting. The concept is really quite good and worth delving into to see how to fit it in our lives.
