Thanks, a, for giving me some personal insight. I've read a lot, but you

would definitely need a qualified doc to get an accurate diagnosis. My son isn't

on ADHD meds right now; he is a patient of Dr. G's, so he does take an SSRI and

now Tenex, both of which have improved the situation. I do know that stimulant

meds would make bipolar symptoms worse. He definitely cycles, with an " episode "

every 7 to 10 days. When he goes, he goes--there's no talking to him, reasoning

with him, etc. He believes everyone hates him and we're all trying to " get " him.

His response to things is way over the top and he refuses to take responsibility

for anything he did or said because he believes it was someone else's fault.

After it's over, he is genuinely remorseful.

Does any of this sound similar to Bipolar Disorder?

Hi,

I have bipolar disorder. My son is not diagnosed yet. Right now, he is

diagnosed wtih adhd, spd, and Aspergers. I wonder about early onset bipolar for

him. I am sure I was early onset. i was depressed and insecure as a child. My

first suicide attempt was at twelve. I did not believe my parents loved me. I

had few friends, and sometimes lost friends because I had days when I was " too

silly " and my classmates did not know how to handle it.-hth, ka

Has anyone's child been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder? If so, how old and what

were the most prevalent symptoms?

TIA,

Hi Robyn,

I thought that Bipolar Disorder is a " chemical imbalance " in the

brain? A family member has this disorder and his Psychiatrist

prescribes certain medicines for that. I'm just not sure what those

medicines are because he won't talk about it.

God bless,

Argie

Just to consider - a lot of the information known to about infectious

disease's and the immune system's impact on psychological symptoms comes from

immune studies in bipolar, schizophrenia, and dementia in addition to the

cognitive dysfunction in AIDS dementia.  The protocol would very likely

help bring improvements in bipolar symptoms as well as autism.

Robyn,

yes, those things do sound similar to bipolar. One example i have heard is that

a child wiht adhd wil have a tantrum but will calm down...a child with bipolar

will tantrum for much longer and be pretty irrational. the difference is in the

degree of hte tantrum, and in how long it lasts. thati s only one example...but

it might help..=ka

Nids and the associated illnesses are best defined by the relationship to CFS

and Immune dysfunction. In mainstream medicine, Many of the Dx's you  address

are  evaluated from Psychological, metabolism(sups) and immune function. If you

focus on stabilizing the immune system the  Psychological  and meta issues

seem to slowly melt away.

Yes, a. That's exactly the way he is. He will also get physical--threatening

to hit me or struggling when I'm trying to prevent him from doing something

dangerous. These episodes, thank God, are few and far between and we are seeing

improvements in frequency, duration and severity on the protocol.

All the best,

Robyn
