Guest guest
I am thankful that I have found this group! I have been reading your messages and relating to alot of them. My twin sons, Zachery and , were not even referred to a specialist until their 10 month check up. Their Pediatrician was more concerned with Zachery, who has a flat spot on the back of his head, than Matt who had a flat spot on the right side of his head. We have always been more concerned about Matt. The Plastic Surgeon who examined Matt also said his ears were out of alignment. And noticeable so. I am a little concerned that their Pediatrician did not diagnosis the right baby. The Plastic Surgeon in OKC didn't recommend a helmet for Zachery's head which seems to be shaping up and his ears have always been asymmetric. But thanks to the Pediatricians misdiagnosis, was diagnosed by the Plastic Surgeon and quickly casted and is now wearing his Cranial Molding Helmet with in two quick weeks. He has been wearing it since Friday. I can sympathize with all of you who have to travel long distances to the Orthonics Specialist every other week. It seems like I have to travel 200 miles round-trip every week. This next week both boys have appointments at the Oklahoma Eye Institute and the Neurological Development Center for evaluation. Have any of you been referred for this type of evaluation. What kind of tests should we expect? Also, Matt has been wearing the helmet without any trouble, except for some rubbing on his ears and eyes. He seems to be really uncomfortable then. Have you noticed this in your child? Thanks for your insight! Matt and Zach's Mom (Virginia)
