Guest guest
Lee, Since you are using glutamine, you may not get sore. It helps with recovery. I use it three times a day. I lift very heavy. If I didn't use glutamine, I'd have to have my daughters pull me in their little red wagon at the football games. Light headedness can be caused by many things. Are you exhaling on the excentric part of the contraction? Are you holding your breath? Are you taking your full minute between sets? Do you feel like you need to " hurl, toss cookies, drive the porcelain bus " ? Do you lift on an empty stomach? Most people take a week off between challenges. That's a week off from lifting, cardio, supps, etc. But it's not a time to eat everything in site. It's a time for the body to recoup from the " abuse " you've put it through for 12 weeks. It's also a time to regroup and develop new goals and a new plan " of attack " . Congrats on making it to week 8. Four more to go! MP > 1) i did squats again on friday but this time i was not in mortal agony. > when i lift sometimes i'm light headed and when i finsh that body part feels > like it weighs 2 tons so i think i'm pushing myself but want to know am i > pushing hard enough? i took mp's advice and cycled off the creatin and am > just doing the glutamine 2 times a day. > > 2) since i see the 12 week end in sight and know i need a few more > challenges. how long of a break do i take and what does that mean exactly? i > of course assume after the 12 weeks i'll get the secret vet password, > handshake and hat. > > regards, lee > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Guest guest
Lee, Between my 1st and 2nd challenge I took off one week. During that time I ran twice. The first was a moderate jog for 20 minutes and I *hated* it. Well, I hate running anyway but jogging at a level 6/7 made me go, " Why am I even bothering? " The second time I went I did my 20 minute BFL and felt great. But that was it. No weights and no planning my meals. I'd say listen to your body and give yourself a rest as far as workouts go but try to stick to equal proteins and carbs with a flew splurges occasionally. --- l rogas wrote: > 2) since i see the 12 week end in sight and know i > need a few more > challenges. how long of a break do i take and what > does that mean exactly? __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hey, I feel like this when I'm on my last set of calf raises. My calves are the strongest part of my body, but when I really push them I feel like I'm going to blow chunks. I quit yesterday in the middle of my last set because I didn't want a gym full of people see me vomit. Any idea what causes this and how to fix it? And, yes, I usually lift on an empty stomach. No food for 3 hours before. -----Original Message-----From: muscleprincess@... Guest guest
Most of the time, it's the drop in glucose that causes the nausea. Not much you can do about it except let it run it's course. You know it's a good workout when you want to puke. MP > Hey, I feel like this when I'm on my last set of calf raises. Guest guest
I laughed my butt off when I read that! Next time I vomit on someone's shoes I'll just tell them I had a good workout! By the way, I must have just had a good cardio workout because I feel the same way right now. Yeah for nausea! -----Original Message-----From: muscleprincess@... Guest guest
Does anyone know if lifting on an empty stomach is effective for fat loss? I don't think I would do a very good job lifting if I didn't have a meal or two in me. I can get through my cardio fine without eating and that is supposed to promote fat loss, but I didn't know it was the same for lifting. Guest guest
Well, I don't need to lose that much more fat so I think I will continue eating before and right after my workouts. I feel I will get more out of the muscle I gain by having the strength to lift than any fat that I might lose. Guest guest
I guarantee it, especially in the morning. That's half the point of BFL. If you do afternoon/evening workouts you are missing the boat for fat loss. It can still happen, but not as easily or quickly. Brett (who started this response this morning sometime) (sucks to work during the surfday) > Subject: Re: Re: lift question and break question > > > >Does anyone know if lifting on an empty stomach is effective for fat > >loss? > > bp says so in the book. i promise! > > -l >

Guest guest
ROFL at the idea of you puking on someone's shoes and then politely saying <insert British accent here>, " I *do* beg your pardon - workout, you know. " BTDT, mostly after a morning run for some reason - that must really suck the glycogen stores dry (yippee!) because I *always* feel the need to hurl after I run. Thank goodness I run at 5:30am on a track by my house, so if I actually do vomit someday, at least no one will see me! lol Jen B. > I laughed my butt off when I read that! Guest guest
Andy, I lifted first thing in a.m. on an empty stomach for my first challenge, then switched to evening weight workouts in the 2nd, 3rd and current challenges. No difference here in fat loss, it has all been slow. LOL... However, my weight workouts were much, *much* better performed in the afternoon, heavier lifts, faster improvements, etc. I always do cardio first thing in a.m. on an empty stomch. IMO, the cardio is the one that's important to do on an empty tummy. Guest guest
I do the same as you now. Seems to be working for me too. I just can't fit a morning weight workout in my schedule anyway. It's easy to get the cardio in the morning since that only takes a little over 20 minutes.
