Yik!!!

See and Simon was telling me to juice.... I think he wants me dead so

he can take over here. LOL

Yea, I thought of getting that stuff. Meant to ask if anyone here had

an opinion on it. Washing fruit and veggies can become a full time

job. For now I have Dr Bronners peppermint in a spray bottle with

water.

Hilarious! You've got a great sense of humor.

I've never used that stuff, but maybe it's worth it?

If you're having digestive issues, I would consider getting your b-12

tested, just to be safe.

BTW, I respect your choice to take ABX. Let us know how it goes for

you.

Thanks L,

some here find me less than pleasant. Oh well......... their loss

right?

My acupuncturist says the dr bronners isn't enough and I should use

the veggie stuff at WF. I'm just going to see what the gastro says

tomorrow and will let you know.

I sorted thru the 4 choices on my list and decided the Sulpha will

be the best choice for me. I'm sure the dr will love me telling him

what to do!

When I had food poisoning at 6 months pregnant I told them in the ER

that I need saline instead of sugar for the IV then I told them NO

for ultrasound. They looked at me like I was nuts and I reminded

them they could use a fetoscope if they are so concerned about my

baby. They said they didn't have one. I reminded them it is a

hospital and surely they had one upstairs somewhere. They left and

never came back.

Thanx 4 ur vote of confidence.

Peace,

Reg

Hi,

I'm new to the list. I'm not 100% vegan, nor 100% macrobiotic, but

I'm aiming in that direction.

Regarding veggie wash, consider Lugol's Veggie Wash at

www.drclarkstore.com

It's purpose is not so much to take off the pesticides as to kill

the garden microorganisms that are better in the garden than in your

gut.

Just my 2 cents.

-Hey Lori,

I like this site. Thanks so much for passing it along. I will

really consider getting this stuff.

Has anyone else seen the site? Pretty cool I should add it to the

links here. Lori, interested in doing that? :)

Welcome.

Hi Reg,

I was happy to add the link to www.drclarkstore.com. Please feel

Hi!

houyhnhnm10 wrote:

Hello Ilanit,

Thank you for your feedback and caution regarding the use of

Lugol's. The most important caution is not to use it if you are

allergic to iodine. I hadn't heard about it causing problems with

thyroid metabolism. I'd be interested to learn more on that.

I used a very small amount on my skin and then had a medical test for

iodine levels and it was off the scale high - thousands of times the

upper range limit.

then after a few months it was back down

Yes, Hulda does recommend it in her books.

I know - years ago I took it internally like she recommended and nearly

burnt a hole in my stomach!

For instance, she

recommends it to treat skin fungal infections, as a dental rinse, to

rid the body of salmonella and/or staphylococcus aureus, to treat

fever associated with the flu, to add to the wash when washing

diapers, to sterilize your hands, as a remedy for gassiness and/or

bloating, and as a veggie wash. Here are her instructions for the

veggie wash:

Lugol's Food Sanitizer

1 drop Lugol's iodine solution

1 quart/L water

Fill sink or bowl with the measured amount of water. Draw a line

here, so future treatments do not require measuring the water. Add

Lugol's (1 drop per quart). Dip lettuce and spinach so leaves are

well wetted for one minute! Rinsing is optional. Do not save the

water for later use—it will lose its potency.

As an alternative to Lugol's, she says dipping veggies in HCl does

the same thing.

She states that Lugol's stimulates the thyroid to make more

thyroxine. Is that your concern?

no - not at all. It is the chemical bonding of it - it has one bond

which is something toxic but my brain is fried right now and i cannot

think of it!

Also, do you think that the

Lugol's residue on soaked veggies is enough to cause the problems

yes.

you are talking about, or are such problems more likely the result

of taking a more concentrated dose of Lugol's internally (such as

for gas/bloating). I'm all ears!

well a very conservative yet holistic doc i know says it affects you in

the way that showed up on my tests even when applied externally

I think it is an excellent remedy for cuts and abrasions and now use

the colloidal iodine for that and for internal use when needed

it has had dramatic effects for people who were really struggling

here is an article in the colloidal iodine (do not confuse with Lugols

or other iodine products!)

It has been written that the

fundamental

building blocks to health are water, salt, soda and iodine. Of these,

iodine

seems to be the least understood and most neglected. Its

main function is to help the thyroid gland,

located in the middle of the throat, with synthesis, storage and

secretion of

thyroid hormone.

The thyroid, a part of the

endocrine

system, is an essential part of human health and is fueled by iodine.

The

thyroid influences and is also influenced by other endocrine glands,

especially

the pituitary, hypothalamus, adrenals, parathyroid and sex glands. This

key

gland is essential for the normal functioning of human cells, the

nervous

system, muscles, brain development, oxygen utilization, the metabolism,

the

immune system, etc. Thyroid imbalances,

commonly known as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, is estimated to

affect

nearly 13 million people in the U.S., a

drastically conservative estimate according to energetic medicine

studies.

Traditional blood tests fail to take into consideration that the

adrenals are

able to produce small amounts of thyroid hormone. As a result, blood

tests may

show sufficient levels of thyroid hormone but without indication that

these

levels could be due to overworked adrenals and an exhausted thyroid. So

by the

time a blood test confirms a thyroid problem, it is indeed a real

problem as

the “pinch hitter” adrenals are exhausted too!

Common symptoms

of an imbalanced thyroid include weight gain and loss, fatigue, muscle

weakness, slow heart rate, heart enlargement, low body temperature,

sensitivity

to cold, dry course skin, hair loss, difficulties in concentration,

impaired

memory, slow speech, thick tongue, hoarseness, deafness, increased

allergies,

difficult breathing, high cholesterol levels, fluid retention,

constipation,

recurrent infections, calcium metabolism problems, depression,

irritability,

decreased sweating, painful menstrual cycles, bumps on the eyelids,

swollen,

drooping eyelids, gastrointestinal disturbances, etc.

Iodine is also the trigger

mechanism for

apoptosis (the natural death of cells) as well as abnormal cells;

protects

against abnormal growth of bacteria in the stomach; coats incoming

allergenic

proteins to make them non-allergenic; is an antiseptic; is necessary

for fetal

development (possible initial source of thyroxine and apoptotic

mechanisms); is

an anti-cancer and anti-autoimmune disease agent; and deactivates in

the

stomach biological and most chemical poisons.

Some interesting

facts about iodine: autopsies of healthy

people who died of natural causes showed trace amounts of iodine in

almost all

tissues and organs; in tadpoles, their system is flushed with iodine at

the

point they become air-breathing frogs, and similarly, it is

hypothesized that

in infants, their bodies are flushed with iodine as they are born;

iodine’s antiseptic

potency and safety has never been equaled or surpassed, as dilute

iodine

solutions kill all single celled organisms such as bacteria, viruses,

fungi,

protozoa and even staphylococcus, with few side effects and no

development of

bacterial resistance.

EnerG-Iodine is detoxified,

ingestable iodine

in its ionic/electrolytic/chelated/true colloidal, 99% bio-available

state,

unparalleled in potentially helping to support and saturate the thyroid

for

proper functioning. It is not

the typical iodine in its denser,

less assimilable state sold as an antiseptic, or as iodine

trichloride

(chlorine is suppressive to the thyroid), or as added to potassium

iodide. It

is also unlike glandulars or prescriptions containing hormones that

take over

the thyroid’s job instead of nutritionally building the thyroid to do

its own

job. And seaweed, seafood, greens, raw sunflower seeds, and iodized

salt

(chlorinated too!) may not have the levels of assimilable iodine needed

to

support and saturate the thyroid.

Radioactive tracing of

iodine shows much

of it going to the thyroid first, followed by the blood (where it mixes

with

tyrosine or histidine and becomes the surveillance mechanism for

abnormal

cells), nasal cavities, gut, breasts, stomach, and cervix, then

followed by the

bones, extracellular fluids, and connective tissue of almost all organs.

DIRECTIONS: Take 1-3 drops (as

high as 5 drops for severe thyroid imbalance) with 4 oz. water (follow

with

extra water) at 8AM, noon and 4PM on an empty stomach - 30 minutes before or 1 hour after

meals,

medications and/or supplements. Do not take with thermogenic

supplements/herbs.

Suggested use of EnerG-IodineÓä and all supplementation is Monday through Friday,

allowing the body

to rest on weekends. Taking it after 4PM

may leave you too energized.

Sea salt-soda baths and drinking extra water are helpful as EnerG-IodineÓä may stimulate detoxification of the body. EnerG-IodineÓä is not a substitute for thyroid medication.
