Guest guest
>How would a nursing mother go about losing an extra 30 lbs of weight? > >Though we are not sure what is causing my wife to gain weight, because we follow and have been following many of the WAP dietary principles, including daily cod liver oil with butter oil, and a lot of products every month from our local WAPF chapter and health food store, etc., it seems that every weight loss or herbal supplement that might help her is off limits because she is nursing our 5 month old daughter. I believe in the " Quantum Diary " ... that is, anything changes when you observe it. In terms of diet, most people lose weight when they write down everything they eat, including how much and how many calories. (I do carb/protein/fat while I am at it). I also track how I feel, and how a given meal makes me feel. And various other notes about life the universe and everything. One thing I tried to track was how " satisified " a given meal made me, because I got sooooo hungry after some meals. So track what you eat for a week. Some people lose weight JUST by tracking! If not, then lower your total calorie count by 100 to 300 calories a day. That isn't much, you probably won't even notice it much. This method is totally safe and it really does work. You will also discover interesting things about yourself. And if you write down stuff about your baby too you'll have a great journal to look back on. You can use a book, or something like Excel. I also use the Warrior Diet approach (added after I started the Quantum Diary) where I only eat raw foods during the day, and eat carbs in the evening. This may be too much for a nursing Mom though ... you NEED your calories. It does wonders for Cortisol and hunger pang issues though. -- Heidi Jean
