Hi Nicola,

I would second the Bio-Kult recommendation - we had good success with it. Also, has your friend done the MCHAT? It's the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers. I did it on when he was 18 months old and he came up " severely at risk " for autism. He is not severely autistic but was deemed severely at risk.

All the best,

Darla x

I have just had an email back from a Mum who has a daughter who seems to have delays in her speech but at the moment is only 19 mths old so perhaps too early to tell. But she has had lots of antibiotics! So I have been trying to persuade her to give some pro-biotics (as she is currently on yet another dose) and she has just said she has done some research on the internet and 'they are not suitable for under 3 years old except with professional advice, and they need to be taken relatively close to the very first dose if not the first dose of antibiotics, so as she is nearly finishing the dose then there is no point'.

And she will discuss this with her GP next time he is adminstering anti-biotics!!!

It is so difficult to persuade people when they think the GP is god. I had been hopeful as she has seen such a massive improvement in my son I thought I could convince her of this!!

Surely there is nothing harmful in pro-biotics for little ones??
