Guest guest
First I have to say I am a home trainer. Below the reference was to my son's training, which was done with supervision targeting specific behaviors and brain patterns according to assessments. This was the first phase of training as an example: 1) All down 5 minutes, two conditions with a break between. We could have done three conditions if he had been more willing. 2) SMR% 5 minutes, two conditions with a break between. Later they are 7 minutes. 3) And we followed with nIR HEG for a few minutes twice a week. He REALLY wanted to use DVD for feedback so we did often, though I encouraged him to close eyes for All down, which he did some of the time. Ideally we would have used just MIDI sounds or audio (mp3 etc.) for EEG, but we did what we had to to keep him training. My friend (and I) also followed this example of training multiple sites in a session and it was helpful as a number of symptoms were equally distressing, and she found welcome relief with each session. It's definitely easier to become aware of states associated with the feedback received if not engaged in a movie, but it turns out symptoms improved either way. As far as liveliness or calmness, I would definitely prefer to have them correlate with the training if only the trainee would go for it. Liz, this question has led my thinking such that I'm inspired to try out a new MIDI feedback combination. Thanks! Rah - - - I am interested too. Also -- what types of stimuli do you use to train with, and does it matter? (do you correlate the "liveliness"/"calmness" of stimuli to what you are trying to achieve and to the particular sites?)liz On Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 11:08 AM, Gretchen <blueartcat> wrote: THANKS, Rah...how many minutes did you do, per site, each session?
