Washing Fresh Produce

Hi,

I am a Newbie to NT and this forum so sorry if my question has been

discussed before.

In the " Kitchen Tips and Hints " section of the book, Sally recommends

using Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds, hydrogen peroxide or plain Chlorox

bleach to wash all fruits and vegetables to remove pesticides and

other impurities.

This struck me as strange and didn't seem like the kinds of things I

would want to wash my fresh produce in especially after going through

the trouble of locating/obtaining good organic locally grown produce.

Can anyone elaborate on why use of these products are

recommended/safe? What do you all use and why?

TIA,

Frieda
