Guest guest
Ursula: Our docs treat viral infections for like they would for the rest of us--lots of fluid, rest, and to treat it symptomatically. Since it's literally been over 4 years since has had a fever, we have to base all this on cultures, lab work and other symptoms. Also, our primary ped and our immunologist are very aware of what is going around our area and so they seem to always have a good take on the viruses affecting the kids. We also go on what the school tells me and also on how is doing--although seems to have more health problems the past 18 months than . (Thank goodness for the IVIG for Jake!) One other thing--'s WBC seems to stay around 4.5 or so and his lymphocytes never seem to get above 25 even with a viral infection--just another little quirk of his immune system. I think talking with Macey's primary and getting a written set of standards may be a good idea. Let us know what happens. Sorry to hear that she's caught something--it seems that no where is safe from this sort of stuff and that it seems to have happened earlier this year than most. -mom to ,8, dysgamma.
