Guest guest
as you would cornstarch? I got bee pollen too because I heard how good it isfor you, but how does one use it??? ----> Watch the bee pollen and DO EXACTLY what they say on starting out. (usually the directions call for a few pinches working your way up to say a 1 tsp or whatever you're going to be taking) This happened to me with my husband. He has pollen allergies and cannot tolerate the bee pollen. I was in a hurry one day and made both of us a smoothie dumping a tsp pollen into each not paying attention. I use it regularly in smoothies. Within 15 minutes he started having a violent reaction and thankfully vomited most of it up and then took some anti-histamines. I called a doctor friend who told me to watch him and if his breathing started to struggle get him to the emergency room immediatly. She said his vomiting probably got most of it out and the anti-histamines slowed the reaction down and probably saved him. About 40 minutes after this, his body was swollen up like the pillsbury doughboy. It took the rest of the day for that to go down and for him to get back on his feet. We've since tried to a few grains with him and it seems fine. But now I'm too scared to really go beyond that. He can use local raw honey though with no problems. I, on the other hand, just began by dumping 1/4 tsp into my smoothies with no problem. I usually use 1/2 tsp in the spring and summer to deal with any pollen I might react to. Works great for me.
