I had to perform a system restore on my computer and I can't locate the physical disk that the driver is on. Thanks,Mike To: braintrainer From: pvdtlc@...Date: Fri, 5 Dec 2008 22:32:19 -0200 Subject: Re: usb/serial port http://www.usbmax.com/USBG-US-2326FT_Vista_Compatible_USB_RS-232_3ft.Serial_Adapter_DB-9_Male_FTDI_Chip_with_LEDs.cfm Pete Hi all. This is my first time here. I just received most of my equipment and am having a problem with the usb/serial port adapter. I did read the Focus quick start..but the adapters that are suggested are for other windows programs and not my windows vista. I did go to staples, and was there for an hour..came home and discovered that the adapter that I bought was not 64 bit enabled, so it does not work. Also, the serial part of the adapter that I purchased, does not have the 2 screws on each side that attach it to the Focus, but has the 2 hard metal sides. I have noticed this on many that I found on the internetDoes anyone know a brand that would work?thanks -- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com 305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc. Guest guest
PL-2303 Drivers can be found here http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31 If you try to install them as is on Vista, they will *not* work. But if you right clock on the setup icon, and go into properties, you can change the Compatibility mode of the setup program. Set it to " Windows XP SP 2 " , then run the setup again. I've installed nearly a half dozen of these for Vista and asides from the first time of figuring out how to do it, it's worked beautifully with the QDS Focus. -- -S.
