Hi,

like i just said in my first post or email or whatever you call it i just

made a minute ago, I'm new to this list. I'm a WAPF member.

I'm trying to read the Maker's Diet. i read his 2 other books. i say

'trying' cuz I'm wondering how much of it is repeated, since his second

book was pretty much a repeat of his first book.

my biggest health problem is weight. i could stand to lose at least 50

lbs, probably more. (I'm 49). I'm active and i exercise and i don't even

feel all that huge but when i look in the mirror; omigosh. I'm a size

20. (I'm not at all weight obsessed; I'd be DELIGHTED to be a size 16

again!! i don't care if i never dip below a size 14. unlikely, anyway.)

i had lost some weight on a wonderful web site with her books and was

very happy. then i joined WAPF and i am absolutely horrified that i am

packing on EVEN MORE lbs from all this raw milk, yogurt, kefir, butter

and cream. i'm starting to bust out of my clothes and don't know what to

do.

that is my first concern.

my question is, the Maker's Diet guy says only consume goat kefir, and it

must be cultured at least 30 (?)hours, at that.

i realize cow's milk is designed to pack a lot of weight onto a tiny calf

in order to made him a cow or bull.

can anyone speak to this? is it even possible to lose weight if you are

a WAPF member? how necessary is it to switch to goat kefir?

and most of all, does this mean i should be culturing my cow's milk kefir

at least 30 hours? yikes! at room temp, that would be one clumpy, sour

mess!

any help anyone can give, i would GREATLY appreciate.

thanks.
