Guest guest
Lori, There are much better medications for RA than there used to be. If it turns out that you do have RA, make sure that the rheumatologist treats it aggressively from the beginning, and hopefully you won't wind up in a wheelchair. I've had RA for over eight years (can't believe it's been that long) and Enbrel is doing a marvelous job of keeping it in check. Good luck to you! Guest guest
Lori - Please don't envision your life in a wheelchair. I've had an aggressive case of RA for 21 years and I am not in a wheelchchair. You must find out though if it is RA so you can get the proper treatment so you will always be able to help your daughter. Wishing you only positive thoughts.................Jen From: loriandheidi <loriandheidi@...> Subject: [ ] Thanks for the help Date: Monday, November 3, 2008, 12:53 PM Thank you to all who responded to my questions. I will call the doctor and get a referal to a rheumatologist. I am a busy mom of a special needs 8 year old named Heidi, so I know all about keeping records. I have piles and piles of records for her. I know better, but I take much beter care of her than I do myself. Thanks for the reminder to get a file together for myself. Hopefully if I do have RA I can get it under control so I can continue to take care of her. I keep imagining me in a wheelchair trying to get her into hers. I know it is early on, but that is what scares me the most. I guess I better get to the doctor and find out if it is RA before my mind takes over. Again thanks for the support, Lori
