Well, I have to say I agree with that sunburns are an internal issue.

I have light skin and tend to burn easily when in strong summer 10-2 sun with

no sunscreen. If I'm out for hours, I sometimes burn a little even with

sunscreen.

The last few weeks I've been using 6-10 Tbsp. of coconut oil a day, and have

been eating a steamer full of kale and two large sweet potatoes in a day for

the last week or so, which are rich in carotenes. Granted, I'd also been

tanning in a tanning bed for a few weeks last month, but when I went out Friday

I

wouldn't say I was " tan " compared to the average person.

I spent over an hour in the noon sun, in hot, strong sun, with no sunscreen

of any sort whatsoever. Then, the rest of the day I spent hours with my face

and arms constantly exposed to what was rather blistering sun that day, again,

with no sunscreen at all (and my face tends to burn more easily than

anything). I didn't get even a hint of sunburn, but I got a great tan!

I went to the lake again today for 45 minutes or so with no sunscreen and

also didn't burn.

Chris
