I harvested my last batch of chickens, and I can report the following:

I harvested 140 lbs. of chicken from about 17 chicks. The weight of

the last batch (at almost 3 months old) was 9 lbs of meat each on average, not

including

giblets.

I spent about 140 dollars on food. I used the recommended food,

as this is my " baseline " batch. So it comes to a buck a pound, which

I can buy chicken for (though these are better to eat, I think).

Several of them got leg problems before I figured out what was

going on, and as a result some of them died. Once I changed

their feeding pattern, they became much more active and muscular

(i.e. don't feed them at night, let the food dish go empty). Anyway,

they turned into something that looks a lot like a turkey ... kind of

big, but not unhealthy looking.

I kept one, to see how big it gets and how it's health goes.
