I was too intimidated to do singles, so I did triples with my normal triple weight (which isn't my max, cuz I use it as a warmup for singles), and did three sets instead of one, then did a bunch of sets of fives taken 10 lbs off each time. I get more of a rush from them, because the force you need to build to push off requires a rather ballistic motion.
