Guest guest
In trying to avoid being too graphic, the last 3 days I've been suffering from what in the past was my reaction to egg eating. Thing is, the eggs only hit me for a day in the past, and since I stopped eating the hormone/antibiotic ones, the allergic reaction to them seems to have vanished. That said, I have had the same " egg taste " in the back of my throat, nauseated to kingdom come with um, watery restroom habits from both ends. I'm at a loss why. No temp, and it feels more like a previous food reaction than it does the flu. Incidentally, I have not eaten eggs in the last seven days. The other other changes/incidents was a broken water pipe at our campground 7 days ago, and I had coffee made with that water before we realized something was wrong with it, and I had a plum Monday that I thought was just nicely ripe until I bit a part that was clearly way overripe bordering on rotten. I don't quite see how either of those would still have me sicker than a dog now, but I realize it's possible. All that to get here: Any NT suggestions on something I can eat/drink to help alleviate this? I'm miserable, and I really don't want to schedule an appt with my doc (which will take 3 weeks) to be told it's all in my head anyway. I started some chicken broth yesterday but got far too sick to get the chicken deboned so I could simmer the stuff.
Guest guest
If you have nausea, try boiling a bunch of fresh ginger root in water and drink it like a tea. Guest guest
aajonus vonderplanitz recommends eating a pinky finger size of raw unsalted cheese. that usually binds with the toxins. also, drinking some clay mixed with water... I forget the type but I know it's used for a mask.. > In trying to avoid being too graphic, the last 3 days I've been > suffering from what in the past was my reaction to egg eating. > Thing is, the eggs only hit me for a day in the past, and since I > stopped eating the hormone/antibiotic ones, the allergic reaction to > them seems to have vanished. It's not " NT " in the sense of a whole food, but bismuth is a tried and true way to get rid of bad bugs. You may have picked up one, or, you may have reacted to some food and now you have dysbiosis. Bismuth has few side effects and I haven't heard anything bad about it (the other stuff in pepto isn't too bad for you in the short run either). Adding good bugs (in the form of kefir or whatever) is a good idea too. White rice is also often recommended (easy to digest) though sometimes it has gluten in it so it's iffy. Brown rice is harder to digest. Charcoal also may help (burnt toast is the classic way to get that, but you can buy charcoal tablets). Good red wine seems to help me too. -- Heidi Jean
Guest guest
I've seen it suggested that if you suspect " food poisoning " or some other onslaught of " bad bugs " that an effective strategy is to call in the cavalry, so to speak, in the form of good bugs. If you don't have real live kefir available, try some other probiotic from the hfs like Culturelle or one of the other " Lactobacillus gang " products -- just be sure it's still got live ones. Some folks claim (rightly??) that these sorts of products need to be taken with milk in order to feed the good bugs -- but I don't know about that. re: having to wait 3 weeks for a drs appt. Have you considered finding a good naturopath (ND)? I find they tend to have much less fussy office styles / schedules. In WA, they can be your " primary care physician " for insurance purposes.
