Guest guest
Can anyone explain what exactly pancreatitus is and the proper protocol(diet etc..) that one should be on to get rid of or alleviate symptoms. I have a client who would love to get off of medications. Is this possible? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! After the second one he had Type 1 diabetes. He has reduced the insulin he takes thourgh diet and supplemental use. If diabetes is the problem go to he www.westonaprice.org and read the article by Tom Cowan, MD. I think it is listed under the " new information " or " news " (upper left hand corner of the contents page). If you have trouble finding it write back for help. My husband is following the diet Tom Cowan suggests and he has been able to reduce his drugs for diabetes. If there is no diabetes present, then the diet would probably be a little different, but not much. The elimination of all refined foods would be first thing to go on any diet to improve health.Maybe others would have more suggestions on how to prevent diabetes, which is a rather common occurance after pancreatitus. All my best, Sheila

Gluten is known to cause zonulin to be secreted, in some individuals ... and giving rats zonulin gives them T1 diabetes. Gluten and casein seem to be the primary offenders (esp. in rats) but not hydrolyzed casein. So it's worth testing for, anyway! -- Heidi Jean
