Normal TSH last year was lowered to I believe 3 and it may be lowered again to 2. Many people need it even lower, below 1 to feel good. I do. Check out about.thryoid.com site for more up to date info than most doctors can keep up with. . > I suggested she eat some liver (preferably raw), but she turned up > her nose at that idea. ;-) ----> Use dessicated and if she can't figure out a way to take the powder then pills are at least a way to get some down. Here's the ratio of dried to fresh to give her an idea of how much to take: 1 lb liver dries to 3 oz which = 3/4 cup desiccated liver powder. ----> I use Frontier brand brewers yeast mixed with grapefruit juice + 1-2 raw egg yolks + a bit apple cider vinegar to give me power boosts. Do it everymorning during my teaching year when I really need energy. I'm 50. Sally Fallon mentioned that she now has more energy in her 50s than in her 20s. She attributes it all to eating tradtional foods. Sally said she also ups her cod liver oil tremendously when she under stress.....i.e 2-3 Tbs of the high vitamin cod liver oil. Plus she eats liver once a week. She estimates during normal times in her life she's getting around 30,000 IU of A from CLO +diet but when she's under stress it's upped closer to 90,000IU s. I have to say I've tried this and my energy returns within hours of taking the oil. One more thing .....has she checked to be sure her cancer has not returned??? A sudden drop in energy could signal that. Maybe use an AMAS test to monitor that situation. Ive also noticed as I get older the summer heat has a more devasting effect on my energy than it ever did in my 20s and 30s. So that could also be a big part. Especially if you're not >eating NT style, with organ meats, animal fat, and bone broths? well, in general my feeling on supplements is that it's really easy to throw everything out of balance. granted, these days, most of us are out of balance to begin with! but i see a lot of times that supplements just swing the pendulum in the other direction. in particular to your question - if she's taking b vitamins out of complex - ie, just taking b12 - that's sure to throw her into a tizzy. the b's in particular need to be taken in a complex. personally, if i were treating this woman, i'd tell her to spend her supplement money on good food, and i'd get her off grains and i'd significantly lower her remaining non-grain carb intake. also if she drinks coffee or soda, i'd get rid of that - it throws the body's natural rhythms out of whack. and of course, i'd have her stop eating sugar... -katja
Guest guest
, Sounds like she eats like a carb, alkaline, slow metabolic type. She might try more meat but not the high purine organ meats of the fast, protein type. More like chicken and fish of the mixed type. B12, calcium, D and zinc at least would be counterproductive to someone who is not a protein type.
