Guest guest
Hi all, I was visiting with a 60yo friend yesterday about health issues. She had cancer years ago and was " cured " . Since then, she tries to take care of herself. She takes quite a few supplements and is not a vegetarian. She does eat eggs every day, and they're pretty close to raw. I'm not sure she eats much red meat, though, and she hasn't perked up when I've mentioned animal fat. She said her cholesterol tested high recently (over 230, I think), but she is resolved to avoid cholesterol-lowering drugs. She has been tired recently and even got her thyroid tested to see if that was the reason. They told her yesterday that it tested normal (of course, they may not have done the most revealing tests). I suggested she eat some liver (preferably raw), but she turned up her nose at that idea. ;-) My question is this: Are any of the commonly-touted supplements (you know, gingko, sublingual B12, that sort of thing) likely to leave you worn out if you depend on them too much? Especially if you're not eating NT style, with organ meats, animal fat, and bone broths? I also suggested that if she had been experiencing too much stress lately, that could be her problem. She did talk like she didn't have any " down time " . Also, it's been hot lately, and she has been doing heavy chores outside at home.
