vitamin A, energy, and working out

When I ran out of cod liver oil months ago, I never bought any more because

my budget was so tight. I also stopped eating liver a few months ago when the

store I got it from temporarily ran out of the buffalo liver I was getting.

I was also quite stressed from my overload of classes last semester, combined

with working, working out, and sleeping 6 hours a night or less. (I think at

my age we need 9 or 10 hours anyway, and extra from working out). I also eat

a real lot of protein. I think that stress, protein, and working out all

deplete vitamin A. Sally says that working out intensely can deplete vitamin A

extremely rapidly.

Lately I'd been getting fatigued easily. I'd also been having trouble

gaining weight. I think this is in large part because the first 20 pounds are

always the easiest to put on, and then it slumps off a bit. However, I think I

was

also deficient in vitamin A, having basically no source of it in my diet!

(except some butter, but that's not significant compared to liver and liver oil)

So, I bought some cod liver oil and started eating a pound of liver a week

the last two weeks, and I feel much better. On the chapterleaders list, some

people were discussing taking CLO by the Tbsp by Ron Shmid's recommendation, and

I thought I'd try it, and I find that has increased my energy even more.

(Sally says she regularly takes 2-3 tsp of high-vitamin CLO but during times of

stress and deadlines will take 3 Tbsp for a few weeks).

I've also seemed to gain about 3 pounds over a week or week and a half,

bringing me back up to my all-time high of 160 lbs. (I'd lost about 7 pounds in

my

earlier financial crisis, my guess about 5 lbs fat and 2 lbs muscle).

So, I'm going to see if the addition of all this vitamin A will help me put

on some more muscle and see if I can put on another 5 lbs in the next month or

two.
