Guest guest
This isn't new, but it is interesting ... we had been talking earlier about brain changes when some people eat gluten, here is another study where said changes were visible on an MRI. http://praxis.md/index.asp?page=newsarchive & news_id=2818 & news=health Wheat protein triggers headaches NEW YORK, Feb 13 (Praxis Press) A protein found in wheat and other grains, called gluten, may be able to trigger headaches in persons with gluten-sensitivity and limiting intake can reduce these symptoms, according to a new study. Researchers evaluated 10 patients who were sensitive to gluten with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan and found changes to the brain. All had experienced occasional headaches and some suffered from unsteadiness and failure of muscle coordination. When nine of the patients were given a gluten-free diet, the headaches went away completely in seven, and the other two showed partial improvement. The authors recommend that patients with unexplained headaches and MRI findings be tested for gluten sensitivity. -- Heidi Jean
