Guest guest Posted August 2, 2004 Report Share Posted August 2, 2004 Apparently dextrose is the same thing as D-glucose, which is the form of glucose found in food, so dextrose = glucose. According to this article: http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/magazine03/dextrose.htm ....maltodextrin is just a short string of glucose, which would make it the same as maltose, but with slightly longer chains. If that's true, maltodextrin should be easier, not harder, to digest than most starches. The article's argument for consuming maltodextrin with the dextrose seems iffy to me, but his advocation for including a source of sodium with the glucose makes sense to me.
