Guest guest
http://www.salon.com/mwt/wire/2004/08/06/cancer_carbs/index.html my favorite quotes: " The new findings also don't mean that it is safe or healthful to eat lots of meat, cheese or fats, as many people who go on low-carb diets do, experts say. " right, cause if it wasn't healthful to eat lots of meat and fat, ya know, we would have all died thousands of years ago... " There are many concerns with eating diets high in animal fat, " said Dr. Walter Willett, chief of nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health. " If people do want to cut back on carbohydrates, it's really important to do it in a way that emphasizes healthy fats, like salads with salad dressings. " cut back on carbs and eat SALADS? with *SALAD DRESSINGS* what?? and again, what exactly are the concerns with animal fat? hello, were all you people hatched yesterday? do you have NO knowledge of human history? and of course, this one: " The Institute of Medicine recommends that carbohydrates constitute 45 percent to 65 percent of calories, and that no more than 20 percent should come from added sugars, said Schlicker, who served on the panel that drafted the advice. New dietary guidelines are due to be released next year. " yowza! i can get 20% of my calories from added sugar??? sign me up!
