I would be interested in more info, location, products, etc. I am looking for a source for raw milk in my area as well. ~~ Jocelyne

Guest guest
>Any more Canucks out there? I recently moved to Kingston, Ontario. I must be fairly near to Jocelyne in Simcoe County, but I don't know where that is? and where is the wonderful farm in Durham? For any Canucks looking for raw milk, you could try approaching someone who raises goats. Yes, it's illegal to sell raw milk in Ontario, but you CAN buy it for your dogs ;-) and the K9's (who drink lots of goatmilk kefir ;-))

Yes, it's illegal to sell raw milk in Ontario, but you CAN buy it for your dogs ;-) > I think it's still illegal , unless you have found some info that indicates otherwise? Cow shares are allowed in Canada as far as I know, but other than that I believe this is an accurate summary of the applicable legislation: http://www.magma.ca/~ca/rawmilk/legislation.htm " no person shall sell the normal lacteal secretion obtained from the mammary gland of the cow, genus Bos, or of any other animal, or sell a dairy product made with any such secretion, unless the secretion or dairy product has been pasteurized " I just saw this on an Alberta government web site today: http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/newslett.nsf/all/ahf3300?OpenDocument " Distribution of raw milk with or without consideration (i.e. exchange of money, services, etc.) constitutes a sale and thus is in violation of the Regulations. Recently, investigations into the sale of raw milk have resulted in guilty convictions before the courts. In addition, producers have been assessed substantial financial penalties by the dairy industry. " So it sounds like they are making charges against people here in Alberta. : -( The farm in Durham might be Glencolton Farm. It is mentioned on the real milk web site. They have had some awful trouble being persecuted by the government. The story is here: http://www.realmilk.com/summer2001.html This is another page that tells their story and has some pictures: http://www.montland.ca/sib/farm.aspx I have not heard of a legal exception for pet food use. I would be interested in any info you might have that indicates that it is legal, that would be very good to know. thanks, Bruce
