Guest guest
Dear Fellow Native Nutrition Enthusiasts, I have decided to go to Morocco! My mother was born and raised in Marrakec= h with 10 siblings and it has long been my heart's desire to visit my ancestral homel= and. My grandfather sold dried fruits and nuts in the outdoor market. My grandmoth= er cooked for her large clan in the same nourishing tradition that generations before her= did. No packaged foods or cans! I have found a 10 day Jewish Heritage Tour that I feel very good about. I h= ave both spoken and corresponded with the owner of the company who has an office in the Eas= t Coast as well as Marrakech. It is a private tour and can be customized - in terms of= the exact itinerary and price. It will include many major cities and sites with a spe= cial focus on Jewish heritage in some of them. There are special rates for 4 people or mo= re. I need at least one travel partner! I have reserved myself for a trip that will start on Thursday, September 30= departing in San Francisco and bring me to Dulles Airport (Washington D.C.) the night before= the 3 day Weston A. Price conference starts. From there I will depart on October 4 t= o furt and arrive in Casablanca on October 4 at 11:45P. I am tentatively scheduled to = return to San Francisco on October 16 - I can come back earlier but, I thought I would ex= tend the trip by a day or two to possibly visit family there. I have two weeks to ticket (b= y July 29). Please take a look at the itinerary and let me know if you'd like to join m= e or know of anyone who might! I would welcome a fellow Weston A. Price member as a travel partner! http://www.xoticdestinations.com/Moroc%20Jewish%20Heritage.htm Excitedly, Sandrine Begin forwarded message: From: Chas S Canales <doesitmatter@...> Date: July 15, 2004 8:18:27 PM PDT Sandrine Hahn <sandrinehahn@...> Subject: Re: Referral for Skype Hello Sandrine, I would highly recommend and X'otic Destinations. Everyone involved w= ith our trip from our driver to our guides were cordial and very knowledgeable. an= d I corresponded via email and he answered all of our questions. took car= e of airline tickets and schedules in a prompt fashion. We also chatted on the phone a = few times. was great and our driver Jalil and was fantastic. Morocco is a wonderful country. It's landscape is as varied as it's people= .. It is like walking back in time while in the present looking towards the future all at the sam= e time. The Mosque of Mohammed V is one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen, i= t rivals Notre Dame or may even surpass it. The camping trek to the Sahara was surreal an= d not to be missed. The accommodations were rustic but we enjoyed singing, dancing, pl= aying the drums by the light of the moon and stars. The Atlas mountains the Gorge, F= es, The 1000 Casbah's, Marrakesh and Essoria on the Atlantic coast was fantastic. If yo= u like food, Moroccan wine and world music than this is the place. Many of the people we spoke to were well educated and spoke several languag= es. I can not stress just how warm and hospitable they all were. We made many friends. I= am sure that you will have a wonderful time if you remember that Morocco is not the U.S.= and that we are guests in their country. This trip will be and adventure. can he= lp you plan your dream trip. All you have to do is let him know what you needs are. Sandrine, I hope that you make your dream come true. I know that we did an= d we are richer for it. Purchase a copy of the Lonely Planet Morocco, it is a wealt= h of information. If you would like any other information or have questions, please don't hesita= te to write. My best, Martha
