Guest guest
Sorry and I also found out more by saliva test by Genova Labs, four samples are required, not cheap, tells you Cortisol, testosterone, melantonin and DHEA levels. If you're going for a blood test you want the TH 1234. Not just 1 and 2 which are almost the default if you don't know better. Only found the latter out from another member on the list. And its a bit like yeast in the medical profession - thyroid complaints and over/underactivity are a bit " pooh-poohed " so get your gloves on if you're going through mainstream (like everything else) E x Eileen > > I think I may have just worked out what's causing Tom's (and my) > insomnia - adrenal fatigue. > Is there anyone out there treating a child for adrenal fatigue? Guest guest
Hi All I was feeling a bit wiped out a few months ago and did these Genova tests for Adrenal function, melatonin, DHEA, cortisol (I did the Hormone panel too. My sleep had been pretty rubbish at the time and fatigue was just terrible. I found when I woke up that it took me nearly til late afternoon to come round then I was tired again early evening. My adrenals were stressed, hormones flat, melatonin profile all over the place. I too started the Dr s Adrenal Dynamite and am loving it. I feel heaps better, sleep great and although I havent retested I should imagine things are a bit better. I no longer feel that crashing tiredness. I am sure most of us and our kids are the same. The tests I did were saliva samples. The adrenal ones alone you do over one 24 hour period. I know wouldnt be amenable to that but maybe your child would be better. Its a small tube you have to fill with saliva so not just one little bit (sorry bit revolting subject for breakfast). Guest guest
Sara, Do you have DDI essential element hair test results? Those can show adrenal fatigue. If you don't though, IMO, adrenal fatigue is one of those things you can tell by symptoms and treat without testing. Treatment is very safe. I use adrenal cortex glandular by Nutricology. DS takes 625 mgs a day still as maintenance. Also, I used B vitamins and Vitamin C 4 times a day. Even more often would be better, especially at the beginning. I also use chromium to help regulate blood sugar. Also, realizing that quite a bit of magnesium has been necessary. Also, for my one son, lots of B2 but not figured out why. If you search this list, you can find more comprehensive posts about this. IMO, adrenal fatigue is pretty close to a given in metal toxic, stressed out kids AND their parents :-( Treating for it can make a huge difference. It has here.
