Guest guest
For those of you who helped me with the kitten: Went to the vet yesterday. Vet says he's probably 4 weeks old. He weighs 7.8 ounces. Soundly chastised me for feeding him raw liver because of toxiplasmosis risk (?). Whatever, i kept the cat alive. He has a virus in his eyes as Christie said, either herpes or chlamydia. Has roundworms that i identified earlier. Was given worm medicine, an immune booster that i give him orally -- Interferon (??) -- and terramycin for his eyes. And Prescription Diet a/d. I did not go the holistic route. Money is an issue. But i have to say he is almost normal now, except for his eyes. My four-year-old returned from a short trip away and is obsessed with him. She's being pretty gentle luckily and he's getting loads of attention now. His name is Tiny. Elaine

Animals on a species appropriate diet have immune systems that ward off worms, fleas and other bugs, diseases, etc., so you don't have to keep spending more and more money on toxic chemicals (flea and worm preparations) and other vet bills later from the effects of those toxins, let alone all the garbage that is in the food. I've hardly been to the vet and haven't bought any wormers or flea products since we switched to raw more than 12 months ago. Before that we were there just about every month. Cheers, Tas'.
