don't know about people, but I use on the goat's udders to relieve

congestion. Doesn't seem to have a negative effect on them.

-- Peppermint Oil?

does anyone know if rubbing peppermint oil on tummy (when you're pregnant)

is ok?

I've been doing this for pain/cramping/Braxton Hicks etc I read somewhere

on net that peppermint stops lactations though

does anyone know for sure?

are there any other contraindications?

thanks

Sorry, no, it isn't OK.

All topical use of essential oils should be avoided for the first 16

weeks. After that a max of one aromatherapy massage per week and all

herbal oils should be avoided. Peppermint is a herbal oil. Other

oils to be avoided while pregnant are basil, citronella, clary sage,

cypress, fennel, ginger, lemongrass, marjoram, oregano, palmarosa,

rose, rosemary, sage & thyme.

You can still use floral oils like lavendar, citrus oils like orange

and woody oils like rosewood.
