Guest guest
Hello I have only just got the nourishing nutrition book and was wondering if you could use the acid water, from an alkaline water ioniser, to soak grains etc instead of the whey, lemon juice, vinegar; all of which I am sensitive to. I have been doing this for some time, but now I am wondering if I am doing the wrong thing. Also, when you soak the grains, do you drain the liquid off and then put more water in and then cook. I have been doing this, but cooking the grains in alkaline water. Sally only mentions to do this for one of the recipes. I do notice that even if I soak buckwheat in normal water the water turns out to be quite syrupy after a few hours. Am I washing away the goodness of the grains? One last question. I have a fermented powder consisting of different grasses and grains that is fermented with strains of beneficial yeasts and acidophilus. I have soaked my nuts in this and then drained them and then added more powder and then slowly dried them in the oven. The drying took about 24hours. Am I still getting the benefit from the ferments or would I have killed them. I don't want to be wasting the powder or just eating dead yeasts as my body is very sensitive at the moment. Cheers nat
