Guest guest
Is anyone familiar with " The Methuselah Factors " by Dan Georgakas? I opened the Pandora's box of vegetarianism on the Mercury Amalgam list, mostly composed of scientists and several dentists. The only reason I broached the subject is because one woman has a cornucopia of health issues and she was talking about striving to be a vegetarian as soon as she's healthy enough to do so. Groan... So this guy writes that he read the above-mentioned book and that the author studied " the world's people-groups that have been most noted for their longevity " and found that, among other factors, " ...most of them were either partly or completely vegetarian. Many were predominantly vegetarian and would eat meat only ceremonially, on special occasions. " Sounds like a big fat lie fueled by a vegetarian agenda. They probably sucked down insects, at minimum. In any case, can anyone point me to a good critique of this book? Or offer one of your own? Also, another poster made the old argument about how it's more eco-friendly not to eat meat because for every 1 lb. of meat eaten " x " amount of grains can feed that many more people, yada, yada, yada. Any online articles that are good refutations of these points? TIA :-) Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Web Design & Development http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3shjg Weston A.
