I felt tired, nauseated, and unwell. I tried to stick with it, thinking those symptoms would pass, but they never did. It also felt counter-intuitive to me to be turning down fruits and whole grains in favor of artificial ingredients and fractionated products in the name of lowering carb intake. My husband, who initially liked the diet, ended up with a debilitating case of gout (this was " not " a pre-existing condition). With vitamin/herbal supplement therapy, he did pull through this, but will never go back on this regimen again. IMO, Atkins does have some things right, but is completely off the rails in other respects. It is not a diet that I would recommend. ~~ Jocelyne
