I took Zoloft for 3 years before switching. But in all fairness, the

last 2 years have been extremely stressful, and would probably have tested the

limits of any medication. My husband of 25 years decided that he " wasn't

happy " and walked out 2 years ago. Due to his own issues, the first 1 1/2 years

were frightening, depressing and required me to be hypervigilent 24/7. Then

last summer, my beloved mother died unexpectedly.

Unlike Prozac, which (for my daughter) just plain stopped working, the

Zoloft was, for me, like running on older batteries - a gradual slowing

process. The Lexapro, in addition to relieving depression, also has an

energizing

component, which I need.

Of course, medications affect everyone differently, so you may want to

ask your p-doc about it.
