Guest guest
Hi My husband has just been told he has a dead tooth, which he will have to have either removed or fitted with a root canal. After what I'd read on this list in the past, I suggested he research root canals before he makes a decision - he has done, and decided not to have one! So, if he has the tooth removed, are there any health implications to that? If he had a crown fitted, are there any down sides? He has quite a lot of mercury fillings - I'm wondering if he should have these removed. If he does, what are the alternatives? Thanks for any help Jo

However, this test doesn't tell you that the material is not - *toxic* only that it's not allergenic. I don't know which materials are the least toxic. There are literally thousands of them, I believe. But part of it will depend on what your dentist has in stock and what your husband is not reactive to, if he does the biocompatibility test. My dentist matched up what I wasn't reactive to, to what he actually had in stock. He couldn't order special materials for me because he has to order in bulk, so I'd have to pay for the dental materials for something like 20 people, if I wanted to special order my materials.
