Guest guest
from an ap story i saw on salon: " And in the spring, University of Iowa researchers reported early evidence that drinking whipworm eggs, which causes a temporary, harmless infection, might soothe inflammatory bowel disease by diverting the overactive immune reaction that causes it. " so hold on, let me get this straight: people would rather drink *whipworm eggs* and get sick rather than just give up freakin gluten, which was causing your bloody IBS to begin with?????!!???!!?!?!!?!!?!!! http://www.salon.com/mwt/wire/2004/08/02/maggots/index.html in another quote, they mention that they're trying these alternative procedures (i actually am fully in favor of maggots and leeches, though i don't personally practice with them) when " where conventional therapy alone isn't enough. " ... and " technology has failed " so wait - we're turning to the totally cheap - really practically FREE - natural cure AFTER all the chemicals fail? huh? i mean, if he'd said they're trying them when kloss's liniment (goldenseal, myrrh, and cayenne tinctured in alcohol) fails to cleanse a wound gone septic, then sure, i'd understand... -katja, shaking head... Wow, yeah, that's a hard aesthetic choice, give up gluten or drink whipworms? Of course IBS is probably linked to fructose too so you'd have to give up Coke. Maybe they'll sell Coke with whipworm eggs. -- Heidi Jean

Did I miss a post somewhere about a Great > Cicada Feast from some guy in SE Pennsylvania? > MFJ @@@@@@@@@@ Hi , Nope, you didn't miss any such post... To make a long story short, I didn't get any cicadas at all here! [the rest of story omitted due to lack of interest in telling it!] Anyway, the crickets and grasshoppers are teeming all over the place right now, so I've been enjoying them once or twice a week. And corn earworms are in season too--haven't made it over to my local organic corn farmer yet, but certainly will any day now... Heh. You should have been at my " place of employment " a while back. I stopped counting grasshopper flavors at 20. >And corn earworms are in season too--haven't made it over to my local organic corn farmer yet, but >certainly will any day now... Yep, they certainly are. He's graciously provided me with some over the last few weeks. Sorry, I didn't save 'em for ye. MFJ If I have to be a grownup, can I at least be telekinetic too?
