Guest guest
> Lynn, > you - You are using butter oil for arthritis. Is this rheumatoid or > osteo arthritis? ----Yes I use it for osteoarthritis in my ankle. The arthritis there from a horseback riding accident that totally broke my ankle. It healed back incorrectly and has been wearing the cartilage away over the years. I knew nothing about eating correctly for years so probably really did extra damage also. I had been told to expect to need an artificial ankle or ankle fusion by the time I was 45. I'm now 50. Three years ago it was killing me and at the same time I discovered the butter oil. I started taking it in small amounts and it made some differences (took away enough pain to not consider an operation). I've now upped the oil to 2 tsp/day and recently added a significant amount of CLO. I now have very little to no pain. My xrays still show a ton of missing cartilage but so far I'm fine. I'm use other supplements to address arthritis but I feel the primary ones are the butter oil and CLO. >And do you take any prescription drugs for it? No I don't use anything not even asprin anymore as I don't really have much inflamation. I was using tumeric but couldn't tell a difference. Suze Fisher told me about AOX/PLX that she was using with one of her dogs. I've been using it for a year. I honestly don't know if it makes a difference. It seems likely it does so I continue it. I know the butter oil does because I went off it in the beginning for 3 months and had to go back to my walking stick. Since then I've never gone without it for more than a few days and I've not needed any supportive devices. The other thing I HIGHLY recommend for arthritis are bone broths. Please, please look over this article especially at the very tail end on cartilage regeneration: http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/brothisbeautiful.html andhttp://www.ahoa.org.au/cgi-bin/cgiforum.pl? action=showentry & thesection=default & entry=323 & start=-1 & end=0 I tried to research more on this as eastern Europe uses gelatin injections with good results. Most of the articles are not in English so I only came up with a little but it's very promising. However the treatments are ongoing and not approved here in the US. So I use these daily. I'm also on a waiting list for a far infrared lamp. There's some interesting anecedotal studies on it and arthritis. ANother area I want to look closer at is prolotherapy. Hope this helps! I certainly understand how limiting arthritic pain can make your world so I hope he can find some help. Lynn
