Guest guest
Hello all, Finally vegetable oil is put to use... check out : www.greasecar.com Hope you enjoy it! Also, is there any reason to be concerned about using coconut oil if one would rather maintain or gain weight, rather than lose weight? -Brandt
Guest guest
>>>Finally vegetable oil is put to use... check out : www.greasecar.com Hope you enjoy it!<<< Thanks for that. I'd seen something about it before and wanted more info. I've marked it to read later. >>>Also, is there any reason to be concerned about using coconut oil if one would rather maintain or gain weight, rather than lose weight?<<< I figure if we only give our bodies the good stuff, our weight will stabilise at whatever is right for the individual. Cheers, Tas'.
Guest guest
Hi Shamira, Very strange, is the vegetable oil hard to swallow or is it a digestion issue? What exactly has she tried that doesn't work??? For me, before my surgery, when it was very hard to eat things....it was more of a texture thing. Thick, doughy, spongey, sticky...those were harder to eat. I always toasted my bread (1 slice only), never could eat a sandwich, it was WAY to thick and would get immediately stuck. White rice was hard, but fried rice was easier because it wasn't so sticky. I also had a really hard time with anything tart or sour...my throat would just close up from things like lemonaide or mustard...weird huh?  I also avoided hot and spicy foods, they would close up my e as well. Crispy things went down the best for me at that time, but nothing was perfect....everything took awhile to eat. I don't see why oil would be a problem....hope you can identify what it is, good luck! Julee So. I have noticed via a flyer in the mail and the recipes that I have that in Chinese food they cook with Vegetable Oil. Now this is a stretch but Taniea can't handle any thing cooked in Vegetable Oil. So I was wondering what is the probability that the issue is the oil itself? Considering the oil becomes sticky after a while or at least the brand I use does??? Just a thought Shamira
Guest guest
We actually fry our hot dogs in vegetable oil and when boiled or burnt (on the stove) she can eat them just fine but if we fry in vegetable oil its just not good. Before surgery she couldn't eat hot dogs at all it was definitely a texture thing but Rice was the easiest thing next mashed potatoes to eat for her. ________________________________ From: Montoya <medhelpinfo@...> achalasia Sent: Monday, June 20, 2011 9:15 PM Subject: Re: Vegetable oil  Hi Shamira, Very strange, is the vegetable oil hard to swallow or is it a digestion issue? Julee So. We also find in this group that what works for one does not work for another and sometimes makes things worse. Chinese tends to have veggies and rice. A lot of people have trouble with veggies and a lot also have trouble with rice. Again this is not true for everyone. It could be though that it is the veggies or rice that is a problem. Rice is not all the same either. Some make it very dry others soupy. It may be more or less sticky. What other foods does she eat with vegetable oil? Could it be the foods in the oil and not the oil? Oil should also be good as a defoamer to break up that mucus/saliva foam. Notice how hard it is to make suds after dishwater becomes oily. That defoaming should help to make swallowing easier and the oil should help to let food slip through the LES. I never noticed it become sticky but maybe I use it differently. notan
Guest guest
I don't cook a lot of things in oil but the other thing I do is hot dogs she can handle them any other way I fix them except fried. It could be the veggie's though I did not consider that. Thank you Notan. Shamira

Have you tried ones with other/no casings? notan
