Guest guest
From the 1949 edition of " Fun Fare--A Treasury of Reader's Digest Wit and Humor " : An Englishwoman who kept two cows for her household's use found that while her children were off at school she had more milk than she needed. Knowing it was illegal to sell the surplus, she gave it away to deserving people in the village. Soon an official arrived to say that even giving it away was illegal, unless the recipients were in her employ. " You surely don't want me to pour it down the drain, " said the woman. Of course not, " replied the official. " My Ministry is against waste of any sort. You must only draw off as much as you require! " LOL! After all the reading I've been doing lately, including " The Untold Story of Milk, " this little doozy just jumped out at me. I've not yet heard that England went through the same sort of regulation at the US--it must have happened? Enjoy! Danelle in Kansas
