I have (or, perhaps, had) chronic epididymitis, and after four

courses of antibiotics in two years, I switched to making and taking

homemade colloidal silver. The flare-ups respond as effectively to CS

as they do to doxycycline and Cipro, and the cost is a fraction of

doctor visits and prescriptions.

There is, however, a lot of disinformation being used to disparage

CS. They'll tell you that using CS will make your skin turn blue

(argyria), yada yada yada. But, the fact remains that properly made,

low PPM (i.e., 20 PPM or less) CS does not cause argyria. What does

cause argyria are concentrated silver preparations because they put

silver into the system faster than it can be excreted, and it gets

deposited in the tissues, instead. Concentrated silver preparations

include improperly made homemade CS like the silver sludge taken by

that politician a few years ago; he was making CS with tapwater,

sometimes with salt added. The ONLY thing that should be used to make

CS is pure distilled water and .999+ pure silver (.999 grade silver

is 99.9% pure).

And while you can buy properly made, low PPM silver products, they

cost 40-400 times as much as homemade. Also, don't buy into the sales

hype of proprietary products that claim superiority of either ions or

colloids. Homemade has both (typically, 10-15% colloids and the rest

ionic.)

Generally, I recommend either of these two units for making homemade

CS:

A great CS resource is the silver list:

In my own opinion, I think it can help. I've taken it internally on

various occasions. But, I do think that there is risks if you take

it every day.

Here's a photo and story of a guy that turned blue in 2002:

Thanks for the replies so far.

I was told to get a product that has 5-15 ppm. I found and bought the

product, below. I hate the write-up on the site - very hype-y - but a

rep at the natural pharmacy (www.finlandiapharmacy.com) I bought this

at told me that it's top-of-the-line. I haven't started taking it yet.

I may return it.

And, downright false. Silver kills single-celled organisms

indiscriminately; it does not distinguish between good and bad

organisms. However, the good guys in your digestive tract are down

where the contents are moist solids, and any silver that makes it

there will be immobilized and ineffective. Silver needs to be in a

liquid environment for it to be able to interact with and kill

microorganisms. That's why it's a good idea to separate ingestion of

CS and ingestion of probiotics by a couple hours (so that the silver

doesn't kill the probiotics in the liquid environment of the stomach.)

That's the guy who made concentrated silver sludge with tapwater and

added salt. Properly made CS won't have that effect. Just like

swallowing a bottle of Tylenol will kill you and taking two Tylenol

tablets will kill your pain.
