As far as blackstrap molassas goes, I have heard that the

Unsulphured Blackstrap Molassas is better for you. True

Blackstrap Molassas is said to be from the third extraction

of the sugar cane syrup.

Blackstrap is the final byproduct of sugar refinement. Therefore it

has the highest concentration of minerals. Iron, calcium,

magnesium, selenium, copper, manganese. Especially iron. It is also

a richer source of antioxidants and lower in sugar.

Interesting link with ORAC measurments.

That said, anyone use it, other than straight? Have tried making

bread or rice pudding with it, did not like it too much. Very

strong flavor. Read its good for baked bean and gingerbread. Maybe

a good homemade bbq sauce?
