Welcome to the group! We can all sympathize with you here, myself included.

During the 911 incident I had a thriving business and was working from home

paying all the bills and also had a great day job. I was hurt that year

with a disc out in my neck which took me off work (day job) and then

September 11th hit and my business went completely down. No one was

purchasing and everyone was afraid. Slowly, I had to close shop and it's

been a battle since. People are just now starting to hire and the market

out there is awful with everyone trying to get back to work. I might be

able to help you out with some ideas of work, it wouldn't be a full-time

position but it might help you. I have tried to help out a few with work at

home jobs until something opens up. Sometimes I find myself chasing around

a dollar all day, if you know what I mean, but it helps. Feel free to

e-mail me off the group at alonenterprises@... and I will send you a

list of some jobs available, well at least you can look into them.

This group has helped me tremendously! Affirmations are so great and I didn

t realize, until I came here how powerful they really are. Take a look at

some of the archives and you will see some very informing messages there. I

know it will help you through each day. Take care and have a good day..

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this group. This is my first " official " post. I'm

looking forward to connecting with others and learning. I am a

yoga/Pilates instructor with an extensive background in

fitness/wellness and also sales and marketing so I hope I can be of

assistance. I teach yoga/Pilates part-time as I have a young

family. My husband works in the film industry, so he's often not

around. Right now I'm alone with the kids until he finishes

shooting sometime in the fall (he's actually living out of town).

Things are very stressful at the moment for a number of reasons, the

most significant being that the industry he is in is " drying up " .

What remains is moving to other locations. So we are in the midst

of an impending financial crisis. And comes on the heels of already

being in debt due to the last picture he was working on folded due

to " 911 " and he wasn't paid for the work he did (he had a binding

agreement to be paid the full amount, but it wasn't honoured) He

knows he needs to find another way to earn a living, but try telling

that to a stubborn, proud 40 year old. I think he's in denial. I

on the other hand would work at Starbucks if it paid enough! I have

been trying to build my yoga/Pilates business but it is very slow in

coming...too competitive. I was even considering opening my own

studio along with a colleague of mine but the rents are very high

and there's a drastic dip in enrollment from April to August. It

seems to be next to impossible to build a large enough, regular

client base (people are very fickle and not committed at all!) So,

I'm kind of " stuck " right now not really knowing what to do. I've

decided not to teach again until September. I'm taking time off to

tie up loose ends in my life, clear my head, etc. I'm hoping that by

the end of summer I/we will know what direction we are headed. The

one good thing is that I know things never stay the same, so it'll

either get worse or better! I'm trying to make " good " choices so

that things get better, but the Universe seems to have a way

to " test " one's strength. The other thing I'm trying to do is write

and self-publish a book in association with a colleague of mine. I

really like the idea of this, but sometimes I catch myself

thinking " am I nuts! " . It is taking alot of my time with no

immediate " pay-off " . Maybe I should get a " real " job?? Oh, what to

do, what to do! I'm ready for my pep-talk now!

Welcome to the group .

I just recently go into yoga (just a little). I mostly 'for now'

just do stretches that the chiropractor recommended. My back

gets tight from lifting my grandson. :o)

I understand about 9/11 and jobs. My husband is done work

on Sunday. He has worked there for over six years.

I am SO glad as he wasn't happy there.

EVERYthing works out.

He starts a NEW job on the 7th of July. Don't you love that number?

His pay will almost double. We have to pay for our own medical insurance

but that is fine. I'm hoping the boss will end up giving them that as part of

a package.

Hang in there EVERYTHING works out for good.

I can do Yoga and I need more resources to enlighten me on it, therefore I

will ask our new member, to assist me. LOL I used to do Yoga all the

time, it was so nice. I am not sure why I quit? Too funny how that happens

in your life if you allow it to. I think I will look up on the Internet and

see what I can find. Thanks Nola

I once did a yoga class many years ago, but I got started in a group

that was already doing the classes for a long time so I had to bend

myself in the strangest positions. I left with muscle ache and a

head ache. I wasn't assertive enough at that time to address it, so

I never went back. What a shame when I think of that now!
