Guest guest
Hi, I don't post much here, but I was wondering if anybody had heard of this situation before. About 3 yrs. ago I was diagnosed hypothyroid. My TSH was 7.2 and I was extremely symptomatic with every symptom you can imagine, and more, except for weight gain. Back in Oct. 03 I started eating the WAP way. Up until then I thought I was eating a healthy low to no-fat diet (due to high chol.) that consisted mostly of carbs. Silly me. At least I didn't agree to take statins. In Dec. 03 I stopped taking synthroid because I was experiencing hyperactivity, sleeplessness, and heart palpitations. I have felt wonderful since then, except for a time in April when I started experiencing heart palpitations again. I found out by a reputable Dr. ( Cowan if any of you have ever heard of him through the WAPF) that I wasn't eating enough carbs. for my system. He gave me some supplements for my thyroid, which was still a little high at 5.1, and told me that if I experienced any hyperactivity, etc. that I was to wean myself, which I did. Anyway, I have been feeling GREAT since then. Lots of energy, no weight problems, temps up, BP up to normal, I'm not cranky, sleeping like a baby, dreaming, no anxiety, etc. I thought for sure that my thyroid had corrected itself. I rec'd my blood test results back the other day, and it surprised me. My TSH level is 6.8! Apparently I'm hypothyroid almost to the level I was before! I have NO symptoms! I can't imagine feeling any better than I do now. How is this possible? My Dr. says we'll take a wait and see attitude since I have no symptoms. I'm going to get another blood test in 1 month. I'm fine with this, but I was just wondering if any of you ever heard of anyone experiencing this before? Kara
