Guest guest
Rob, http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/braintrainer/message/22678 You buy it by going to http://www.brain-trainer.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl?shop=get_item & item_id=37 and choosing the final item (Add per hour consultation), put 3 in the Quantity and process the order. Then e-mail me, and I'll send you the files. The workshop files are included, as is an hour of phone consultation with me when you have finished, so we can answer any questions. Pete Tony, purchase the next one what, video? You talk about a level 2 course, where is this available from and canI do it now or would I have to enrol and start when more people signup. How about level 1 course? I am a visual learner so I need to see things like a video to learn from as I am dyslexic and written stuffis just so hard for me to learn. I can do it it's just a lot harder.Oh and how much does it cost? ..-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com 305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc. Guest guest
Rob, The Level 2 workshop is all about what activation patterns in the brain are expected to look like and what happens when they are other than expected. Most people find in useful in terms of understanding a little more about what they are looking for when they look at an EEG, how symptoms relate to those patterns and how they can be trained. The description in the Online Workshops section (http://www.brain-trainer.com/workshops/online_workshops.html ) Level 2: Basic Assessment and Training (four 2 hour sessions, $325) This workshop teaches how to understand brain activation patterns as they are identified in the TLC Assessment. Frequency/state relationships and the concept of Tone are presented. The assessment's Analyze, Heads and Report pages are covered as they relate to TLC's training categories. The workshop reviews each pattern, its basis in the brain, how it is seen in the EEG, related symptoms and training approaches. Detailed manual and Power Point slides are included. There are 4 2-hour sessions. The first covers the general material on how frequencies relate to mental states and how the level of stress (as reflected in tone of the autonomic nervous system) affects activation patterns in the cortex and symptoms. The second session covers temporal lobe patterns. The third covers reversal problems and the blocking (frontal midline) patterns. The final session covers coherence and problems it indicates, as well as the two major cognitive categories (filterning and processing) related to ADHD and learning problems. As for the phone consult, unless you don't have a telephone--or access to one you can use for an hour--it should not be a problem. As usual, I ask the client to give me a good time and phone number, and I call you. My phone service allows me to call pretty much anywhere in the world at no additional cost. But that's your choice. Pete Thanks for the reply Pete. Before I part with my hard earned cash, would you be so kind as togive me a few more details regarding the online course. Could yougive me a brief summary of the types of things that are covered. Regarding the telephone consultation, I'm afraid that I would beunable to use that service. .. -- Van Deusenpvdtlc@... http://www.brain-trainer.com305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc. Guest guest
Sorry Rob thought because you had bought the First one of placing the electrodes you looking at TLC already, they have level two training in Audio and powerpoint $300 US I found it to be the most informative material I have come across so far. Back Channel Pete maybe. Guest guest
Ooops sorry Pete already replied. Guest guest
Hi Rob, being one of the ones that pointed you in this direction, I am sorry you did not get as much from the course as I thought. It does have a power point piece to go with the narration. I think that if you were to look at one of your sessions at the same time as listen to the dialogue on coherence you would pick it up very quickly. I also played around whilst listening to the audio bringing up different assessments to compare and correlate with what Pete was saying. I think us as home leaners have to be a bit innovative to get the full benefit of what Pete is saying. We can listen over and over to what he is saying to make it stick. If you have done a few assessments and played with recordings etc I think you will find it much easier to follow. Pete always seems willing to answer any questions if you back channel him. Cheers Tony Re: Training, DVD's and Books Quick feedback about the Level 2 course from TLC. I found that the material was both very informative and the speaker uses a lot of good analogies to explain difficult concepts. However as I am a visual learner the lack of pictures and videos means that I could only grasp about 20% of the lesson. Only one criticism that I would make is that there are no pictures of the eeg signals that are talked about on the lessons. For example, showing the phase relationships of brainwaves to explain coherence. I am a bit reluctant to purchasing the course for BioExplorer as I feel I would need lots of pictures and videos to learn it. Guest guest
Hello... I am totally new to neurofeedback. I took a class with Pete (level 3). While I couldn't be happier with the quality, content or Pete's tireless effort at working with newbies, I do have a suggestion. The classes would be twice as powerful if Pete could show BioExplorer screen shots in real time. If there's a way to do that and then cut to the powerpoint presentation, those of us who learn visually would greatly benefit. I have the BE tutorial created. It's extremely clear and well thought out, yet not too useful to the totally green home trainer. I guess I don't understand enough about NF yet to make the material useful. I will try and see if I can follow the powerpoint with the audio. Idid try reading everything individually. It's my fault really as I tend to switch off when I don't understandwhat is going on. Guest guest
Rob, I think it's been mentioned in the various e-mails that have been on the list from others who have purchased this file and from me, that it is a recording of an online workshop--that would be a PowerPoint presentation--an Excel file that is used as an example--and the recordings of what I presented over the phone. Just listening to the audio without tracking the visual material could easily diminish the value of the material. I'm sorry you're finding this confusing. I've removed the original PowerPoint file from the folder, so future users won't have this problem. The one called " L2 online " would be the one you should use when listening to the audio files L2online1, 2, 3 and 4. If you have any future questions about the files or how to use them, feel free to contact me at pvdtlc@.... And remember that your purchase includes an hour of phone consult. Pete Surprisingly following the powerpoint whilst listening to the audiohas helped a great deal and I'm now understanding a lot more from theaudio. I still find it a bit tricky knowing when to change the slide. Even more confusing is that there are 2 powerpoints to follow. .._ -- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc.
