Guest guest
> The August 16th issue of Science News also has an article about using probiotics to combat arthritis. The mice were divided into groups: a. One group of mice got only water with their food. b. milk c. water with LGG d. regular yogurt e. yogurt made with LGG All the mice were injected with a substance that causes arthritis in mice to develop. The mice in group a. got arthritis. The mice in groups b and c got arthritis, but it was milder and went away faster. The mice in groups d and e got no or very little arthritis. The conclusion being that yogurt prevents at least that kind of arthritis in mice, and regular yogurt works as well as LGG yogurt. Interestingly LGG in water and plain milk worked about the same .. given this was likely store-bought pastuerized milk, that is interesting. I wonder how kefir would compare? > Heidi Jean
